It's beginning to look a lot like Beermas...
If you're looking for a gift that will delight the craft beer lover in your life, look no further than these local options!
I missed out on my usual Thanksgiving beer pairing post that I’ve tried to do many of the past years, but I’m not slacking on this one. Christmas is a great time to put a cylindrical gift under the tree, and our local breweries have some incredible options for gifts. In order to get the best sampling possible, I reached out to the Social Media hivemind and was delighted by the amount of information I received!
If I missed yours, please leave a comment and I will include updates in next week’s newsletter!
Psst! I still need your vote!
There’s still time to submit your picks in seven categories of Focus on the Beer ‘23 Local Picks!
I’ll be closing down the preliminary results for the last week, so as to keep the final winners a secret, but you can vote now and see who’s currently in the lead here.
Voting closes on Christmas Day, so share with your friends to make sure everyone’s picks are considered when the final tally is announced! Back to our regularly scheduled programming…

Phantom’s 30th Anniversary Barleywine is definitely a great gift for a beer lover! Patiently aged 3 months in Cognac barrels from the south of France, this English-style Barleywine contains multitudes of layers of malt forward structure, complexity and depth.
Enlivened by the aromas and flavors from these special casks, each sip reveals a delicious new dimension of rich, silky and warming alchemy.
Rare Beer Club
Supporting our local breweries should be the top priority this holiday season, but if you’re looking to look a bit further, the Rare Beer Club is one of my favorites to get something one-of-a-kind for the beer lover in your life:
Memberships start at around $44/month, and members get access to some pretty amazing beers. Click the button below to join or gift a subscription:
They also have other clubs for international beer, hop heads and more, so it’s a great way to give a gift that keeps on giving.
Did I miss any breweries offering specific gift options? Let me know in the comments or send me an email and I’ll include them in next week’s newsletter!
New Podcast, who dis?
I hope I’m not letting the cat out of the bag too soon, but be on the lookout for tap&table, a joint venture between Focal Pint and Side Dish launching this January. We (Matthew Schniper and myself) are hoping to lean on our unique experiences here in Colorado Springs to help drive a conversation about local food, beer and more.
We have a bunch of content lined up already, including food and beverage news, interviews with prominent locals, brewers and restauranteurs, but we’re just getting started. If you’re interested in partnering with tap&table on advertising or content, let me know!
We are still gathering resources and figuring out the nitty gritty, but information regarding the first episode (and a Launch Party, woohoo!) will be available soon, so stay tuned!
As always, thanks for reading. I hope you can find something local to surprise your favorite beer lover.
Happy Holidays to everyone and their families!
Cheers,
Ryan
